blower motor help

blower motor help

Posted On: February 7, 2023
Can someone please give me some advice. Blower motor broke, part was ordered from manufacturer and installed today. It sounds loud with a kind of deep undertone (I thought at first that machinery was running outside my home). Not so. When it cuts off it makes a noise as the fan winds down. None of this was present before the motor broke. Can you take a listen … this sound isn’t normal. If the blower is the right one for my Carrier model, it should sound the same, right? Question from user Dry-Mycologist3847 at hvacadvice at reddit.com. . . . [More]

should i buy and hoard some r410a while it is still produced

I am getting a new Air source to Air Heat Pump (obviously with R410A). The tree huggers and liberals are at it once more and want to replace R410A with something like supercritical CO2 (I think in moon country they call it EcoCute or HelloKitty or something equally pervy and use it in water heaters). . So my question is, if they needed to charge my heat pump again in say 8-9 years due to leaked refrigerant or some other issue, it will cost massively. Will it make sense to buy and store few cans of R410A while it is still cheap? Question from u . . . [More]

LG top load washer wash and rinse cycles always hot Lines are NOT switched

Posted On: February 5, 2023
Model WT7400CV.I have a new LG top load washer and can't get a cold wash or cold rinse to save my life. Cold wash is hot. Both cold and tap cold settings are hot. I've searched everywhere and can't find a fix. I've checked multiple times and the hoses are hooked up correctly. Sometimes the pipes are hooked up wrong and what appears to be the cold tap is actually hot, but with my previous washer, I washed and rinsed with cold and the water was cold for both cycles. The hoses are new so the screens are clear. I suppose I can switch the lines and . . . [More]

thermostat not working after disconnecting reconnecting wires

Posted On: February 4, 2023
Question from user mbucks334 at hvacadvice at reddit.com. Answer: The first photo is the wiring setup when it was working perfectly fine. I tried to install a different thermostat and couldnt get it to power on. I was going to just give up and try tomorrow and replace my old one in the meantime. Put it back on and wired it exactly how it looked before (minus the wire length exposure which I have since trimmed) and it wont work. This is connected to a furnace which I can hear go on off when I switch it. The thermostat clicks as well but does . . . [More]
